Now to the serious side of things, this month we will see a combination of barra being caught in the shallows, the deep and in and around the main basin. The main basin area has a lot of shallow weedy edges for casting and of course the deep water for trolling, you will find that Lake Monduran has fishable areas like this throughout the whole waterway, the idea is the find river beds leading up to shallow banks, points and bays. If you can find these areas and match them up with a windward direction your chances of finding feeding barra are a lot greater.
For the trollers the Predatek vipers have been the bomb with the gold, silver and red head being successful. For casting the Slik Rigs have been doing plenty of damage, along with shallow diving hard body lure such B52s tropic anglers.
*A good tip when using soft plastics : When using soft plastics it is always essential to use nothing less than 80lb leader, the reason being that the barra will normally swallow these lures and if you hook them down inside near there gills they will close there mouth, get a few head shakes on you and wear through your leader as there teeth are like 80 grit sandpaper.
If you have any queries about your rigs or gear please don’t hesitate to ask any of our helpful staff.

WHERE TO EAT

One day, two guys Joe and Bob were out fishing. A funeral service passes over the bridge they’re fishing by, and Bob takes off his hat and puts in over his heart.
Joe then said “Gee Bob, I didn't know you had it in you!”
Bob then replies “It’s the least I could do. After all I was married to her for 30 years.”

Two morons rent a boat and go fishing. They catch a lot of fish and return to the shore.
1st Moron: “I hope you remember the spot where we caught the fish.
2nd Moron: “Yes. I made and ‘x’ on the side of the boat to mark the spot.
1st Moron: “You idiot! How do you know we’ll get the same boat.
