Wow. What a month February was for the rain. We are back to our normal rainy season. The dam level has risen approx 25 percent bringing it up to 50%.
With the recent rise in dam level it has brought with it plenty of weed. Big clumps of weed are making it a little difficult to target barra in the upper reaches of the system. Weedless hooks and soft plastics are best for these areas with barra still being caught around windward points and bays.
The main basin, bass straight, bird bay have all produced barra on the troll, if you stick to one general rule and that is if you are trolling in shallow water eg. 15 feet or less use shallow divers and if your in 15 feet or more use deep divers.
Predatek vipers,RMG scorpions and barra classics have all been working well on the troll, and pro range slik rigs, hollow bellies and shallow diving hard bodies lures such as tropic anglers, B52’s and F18 barra classics are doing the job on the cast.
Check out our new Lake Monduran Barra brag matts. They are 1.5m in length and 450mm high and look awesome for your barra photos and great for that brag session over a few beers with mates. You can purchase these from the office and while your at it ask our friendly staff on the latest info on the dam and how it is fishing.
HAPPY FISHING!

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson go on a camping trip, set up their tent, and fall asleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes his faithful friend.
“Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see.”
Watson replies “I see a million stars”
“What does that tell you?”
Watson ponders for a minute. Astronomically speaking , it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, it’s evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant.
Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?”
Holmes is silent for a moment, then speaks “Watson you idiot, someone has stolen our tent”
